Command Applications
This program is an interactive discussion on controlling and managing incidents from small scale incidents to large scenes spanning several days or operational periods. Concepts and considerations will be discussed with the audience helping build out the scene control and management for various situations.
Managing the Mayday
Likely the worst possible situation is having a mayday or multiple maydays while commanding an incident. This program is designed to cover the foundations and individuality of the various types of maydays, how to recognize when one may unfold, mechanisms to prevent their occurrence and tactics to employ to manage the situations, the stressors that come with them and the courses of action afterwards. 1 day lecture or multi-day lecture and hands-on interactive incident management programs available.
Reading the Fireground
The fireground is a dynamic work place that changes every minute. How it began and how it ends will be vastly different. Solid decisions need to be made for the best potential outcome. Reading the Fireground helps pull together all the continuing elements so that each of the various personnel on the scene can determine the best actions for their given roles for the best chance of a successful outcome.
What Do You Do?
This interactive program brings the challenge of managing issues that arise when supervising all types of personnel. Genuine situations are posed to participants with collective responses and considerations for handling. Attendees are placed in “the hot seat”, presented situations and tasked with determining appropriate solutions in accordance with law, regulations, policy and culture. The potential responses are then evaluated and the good/better/best decisions are shared. Each of these scenarios is based on true events with genuine outcomes and impacts, both positively and negatively for the organization and personnel. These hard lessons are shared to minimize the risk agencies and leaders can face when confronting human behavior management. This engaging program is a must for supervisors.
Leadership Points
Leadership is a developed skill that seems to come naturally for a few but for many, we toil with what we can do to improve our skills to serve and lead those around us. This program is designed to cover the various aspects of leadership and examples of application. Continuous practice and study along with situations to challenge students with what actions could and should be taken are offered.
Developing and Implementing a Field Training Officer Program
Much of today’s fire service has inexperienced personnel joining it. Many promoting personnel are youthful in their positions. Each situation needs guidance, tasking and supervision to ensure success. Considering the challenges of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, teaching, instructing, managing, maintaining and developing new personnel in the organization, the investment is extensive and crucial. The risk of not preparing our members for their given roles has a considerable risk potential for the organization, the people within it and the people we are charged to protect. Having a Field Training Officer Program can help guide new personnel toward the success of meeting department vision, goals and missions while reducing risk to the personnel and organization.
Building Construction for Your Town
This interactive program brings experienced fire service commanders to your town to do personalized building construction and tactics discussions for your respective hazards. This program allows for the instructors and your personnel to go to the sites, discuss in person the challenges and help build plans and determine best courses of action for your agency and the community.
Tactical Comprehension
From pre-dispatch to fire out, we need to be able to understand our size-up, tactics, strategies, best actions and contingencies for every type of emergency we can be called to. This program will cover size-up, determining tactical priorities, management, evaluation and considerations for first-in officers and incident commanders.
Tactics and Leadership Mixer
