Walter Lewis has been a firefighter since 1990, currently at the rank of Assistant Chief for the

Orlando Fire Department. He began his time as a volunteer, then later as a paid firefighter in a bedroom community department. In 1996, he joined the Orlando Fire Department and has served on some of the busiest units and within special operations and training. He is a continual student of the fire service, has contributed to works such as the State of Florida Live Fire Training Instructor curriculum, is a charter member of the Orlando Fire Conference and also a founding member of the FOOLS. He is a Task Force Leader for US&R FL-TF4 based out of Central Florida, having deployed numerous times including Hurricanes Harvey, Laura, Michael and the Surfside Collapse.

Walter resides with his family in Orlando, FL. One of his favorite things to do is to spend time with family boating, riding quads, attending hockey games and playing games with the kids. He always wanted a big family coming from his own home of 7 siblings, and with the addition of some of Michelle’s family from Kentucky, he has that here in Florida.

The Fire Service is a way of life, a brotherhood protecting our community. Train hard, work smart and everyone goes home.
